THE ROOF OF THE REFRIGERATOR: This is one of those places that becomes a real dirt and grease trap, and because it's out of sight, it's often out of mind when it comes to routine cleaning.

BROOM LIKE A BRUSH: If you don't clean the broom, you may end up pushing the dirt around as you try to clean. Brushing traps dirt in the bristles, so clean it with a handheld vacuum or tumble it in a bucket of warm, soapy water, then let it dry.

DISINFECT THE TRASH BIN: Many germs accumulate in your garbage can. Take it outside, spray the interior with a cleaner that contains bleach, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse and ready to use again!

SWEEP UNDER THE CARPETS: You may not be brushing the dirt under the rug, but it will continue to accumulate there. You must turn your rug over and vacuum under it and its underside.
